Official Verification Page

Verify Dartmouth DOVE

This page helps protect vulnerable residents from scams and fake communications.

This page explains how residents can verify whether something was really sent by Dartmouth DOVE Alliance, and it will be included with our first outreach letter. Some residents, including seniors, disabled residents, and people who are less comfortable with internet communications, may be more likely to be targeted or confused by fake messages. Use this page to confirm whether a letter, form, QR code, email, text, phone call, or social media post is really from Dartmouth DOVE Alliance before trusting it.

Confirm Before You Trust

Every official outreach will be confirmable.

Because scams exist, and because the most vulnerable people in our community may not always know how to judge internet communications, DOVE Alliance will provide simple ways to confirm whether something was really sent by this group.

1

Check the website

Each mailed letter, email, phone blast, text correspondence, or other outreach will have a matching update on dartmouthdove.com confirming that it was sent and naming the track it was sent through.

2

Text to confirm

Text 508-972-5566 and ask whether the message you received was sent by Dartmouth DOVE Alliance. Include the date, channel, and a screenshot or description if helpful.

3

Call to confirm

Call 508-972-5566 before trusting an unexpected link, request, phone blast, or message. If something feels off, pause and confirm it directly.

Official Communication Log

Check each communication track before trusting a message.

Right now, the only official Dartmouth DOVE Alliance communications are this verification page and Jackie's post on Nextdoor. Each future official message will be posted here with the date, track, and plain-language summary so residents can compare what they received against what the group actually sent.

How official messages will behave

  • They will clearly identify Dartmouth DOVE Alliance and Jackie McGraw.
  • They will point back to dartmouthdove.com or to the same contact information listed here.
  • They will explain what information is being requested and why.
  • Every mailed letter, text correspondence, and phone blast will have a corresponding message on this website confirming that it was sent by this group.
  • Broad mailed outreach to residents who have not signed up will be sent through USPS, such as Every Door Direct Mail or another postage-paid mail option, not placed directly into mailboxes by volunteers.
  • Before any door-to-door visit or hand-delivered outreach, Dartmouth DOVE Alliance will check Dartmouth's No Soliciting or Canvassing List and follow applicable town rules.
  • They will never pressure you to act before checking with someone in person.
  • They will never ask for payment, utility login credentials, or financial information.

Where this stands right now

Dartmouth DOVE Alliance is starting as a one-person resident effort led by Jackie McGraw. Jackie is looking for help from interested Dartmouth residents and community members to make this real, responsible, and useful.

She does not yet know exactly who to reach out to, which is part of why this is beginning publicly and transparently. She is someone who has given up a lot for the public before, and she believes she can use her energy for this too.

Anyone who wants to help this movement can join. Please use the sign-up form or contact Jackie directly to join, volunteer, ask questions, or share how you would like to help. The goal is to invite interested members of the community into the work so it can become broader, more durable, and more representative over time.

Scam Safety Promise

Dartmouth DOVE Alliance will never ask residents for these things.

04

When In Doubt

Pause, type the website yourself, and ask directly.

Do not click links from a suspicious message. Type dartmouthdove.com directly into your browser, compare the message to this verification page, and contact Jackie by phone, text, email, or in person.

If a message appears to come from Dartmouth DOVE Alliance but does not match these rules, tell Jackie immediately by phone, text, email, or in person so participating residents can be warned transparently. If you are able to take a screenshot, send that too.
